Male Prostitution Research Center

Emmaus is one of the few ministries in the world dedicated to ministering to men trapped in survival prostitution, and the only organization in the US that has worked with this population exclusively for over two decades. Little research has been conducted on this issue, but it is a growing concern. Emmaus has developed a research site, the Male Prostitution Research Center, that links to many of these studies, which encompass a variety of perspectives and ideologies.

Academics and others interested in making a contribution to our growing portfolio of data and information should contact Emmaus’s offices.

Streetwalking With Jesus

Streetwalking CoverJohn Green’s book was released in April 2011. Order your copy today, and a percentage of the sale will be sent to Emmaus and used to benefit the men met by our Outreach ministers and those who come by our Ministry Center.

Struck by the words of Micah 6:8 and the act of a homeless man who gruesomely ended his life in John’s presence, John has continually asked himself: How can I live justly? To whom do I show mercy? How may I walk humbly with God?

In the book, John Green’s lessons learned regarding these hard questions are set against stories of men who struggle to escape poverty, addiction, and sexual sin while encountering Christ in the process. But this book is much more than the account of how Emmaus combats a social problem to which many wish to remain blind. It is about finding joy in service to others and experiencing love in reaching out to the suffering, all under the shelter of God’s unconquerable, abiding love.

With links to evocative songs, a scripture selection to reflect upon, discussion questions, and a prayer at the end of every chapter, you’ll come away challenged and inspired to live a deeper, more missional life.

To order a signed copy directly from Emmaus, please send a check for $18 (includes shipping and handling) to Emmaus Ministries Donations Processing, PO Box 431, Wheaton IL 60187-0431. Be sure to put “SWJ book” on the memo line and include the address where you would like to receive the book.
