After years of having a very somber and serious look that reflected how we feel about the sex trade and sex trafficking, we decided it was time to turn from the darkness and shift toward the light. We wanted to represent the strength, tenacity, and hope we see as we walk alongside sexually exploited individuals.
Your support helped update our image to better reach men and boys victimized by exploitation and to inspire the community to amplify the voices of male survivors.

In our new logo, you’ll see a street. This is both the Road to Emmaus as well as the streets where we build relationships and bring hope.
Additionally, the three lines are a call back to a verse that is foundational for Emmaus. The lines stand for the three things the Lord requires of those who follow him –
“To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)
We are committed to representing survivors in a way that is empowering to them, contributes to their healing journey, and avoids re-exploitation.
We partnered with survivors to advise us on Emmaus’ imagery, offering them the opportunity to choose how they want to be represented. Together, we decided it was best, unless a client chooses otherwise, to use pseudonyms and stock photos to depict victims and survivors in our storytelling.

We intentionally updated the colors in our brand to communicate with survivors. Our objective is for the look and feel of Emmaus to convey hope, peace, and trust.
According to studies, males tend to associate blue with trust. The navy blue we chose is associated with wisdom, loyalty, peace, and stability.
Golden-Yellow stands in stark contrast to the darkness of exploitation. The shade we chose is uplifting and illuminating, offering hope, happiness, and joy.
